Building your Brand

BUILDING YOUR BRANDEverything that you say either helps your brand or it hurts it. When you post your comments, opinions, or daily thoughts on various social networking sites, people are connecting with who you are and that helps them to form an opinion about what role you will play in their lives. Employers look at your social networking activity and that also can determine if you are offered a position or a promotion with an organization. It is so crucial to your overall success that you are mindful of what you say and who you say it to. Any good marketing representative knows that the only way to get people to buy into what you are selling is to get their attention. You get their attention by finding a way to connect with them personally. Finding a common interest and getting them to see that you can relate to them in some way always helps to seal the deal. Here are a few tips on building your brand.
Tip 1: Stay positive. Like the saying goes, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!
Tip 2: Remove/un-tag any unfavorable pictures of you that may be on the internet. The last thing you want a prospective employer to see is you downing drinks at a frat party.
Tip 3: Update your professional profile/web page at least once a month, even if it is an updated picture or a positive comment.
These tips should help you get on track and ensure you have a professional appearance online and in person.
All the best,
